If you’re on a lookout for a new laptop and want to upgrade to the latest one, then you’re in the right place.
The new HP Spectre x360 15 is out in the market and has been awarded the Editors Choice Award for PCWorld. The Spectre is one of the best laptops out currently in the market.
And this is all due, thanks to its features, such as 4k capabilities, an excellent CPU, a great graphics card and a long-lasting battery life.
With its great aesthetic design, functionality, features, and its affordable price tag, you’ll be glad you have a powerful laptop by your side.
You can use it to game your way through your opponents, or if you want to work on your side hustle, then you can do that with the Spectre x360.
With its price of under $1600, you’ll have a speedy machine with a great processor, graphics card and fast memory overall.

The Design
With its aesthetic, 15-inch display design, the laptop is also a bit bulky in size. However, you’ll still be able to carry the Spectre x360 15 around easily.
You’ll have a hybrid laptop because you’ll be able to change this from a traditional laptop to a touchscreen tablet. In my opinion, this is an excellent feature to have because it lets you alternate between laptop mode to a tablet.
Having a tablet as well is excellent if you want to be able to sit back, relax and watch a good movie. Or if you’re going to game, you can even mount the laptop/tablet onto a stand and game with it with an excellent wireless controller. You can get creative with it.
The Spectre x360 15 weighs around 4.62 pounds, a bit heavy, and a bit heavier than its previous version. But you’ll have an ease carrying the laptop around.
With the laptop being 14 inches wide and 9 inches in depth, it’s 19.44 mm in thickness.
You’ll get a lot of features and powerful performances that go along with the bulkiness in the size of the laptop as well.
The material is made up of an elegant blue aluminum finish to it and looks professional. The chassis looks very impressive and clean.
The side bezel of its display is thin, and this is good if you want to immerse yourself fully when viewing the screen, without having the bezels getting in the way.
Specs
- Intel Core i7-8705G
- 16GB of DDR4/2400 RAM
- 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD (Toshiba in our build)
- 15.6-inch 4K touch screen with active stylus support and 1,024 pressure levels
Performance
With its Kaby Lake G CPU, 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8705G, running up from 3.1 GHz up to 4.1 GHz, with four cores, you have a powerful processor that can do anything it gets thrown at.
With the new integration of the Kaby Lake G CPU, you’ll have a phenom by your side.
Intel and AMD merged to create a CPU and GPU into one. So you’ll have both the CPU and GPU into one combined.
This integration is all new, and the Kaby Lake G may be the future for all CPU design.

The Display
With its thin bezel, you’ll be able to see the screen entirely. The Spectre x360 15 has an impressive 15.6-inch 4K display that you can fully immerse your experience in.
However, when the display is placed in bright lighting or direct lighting, you may get that glare.
Other than that, the display is incredible, it’s crisp, and has color depth.
The laptop lets you turn it into a tablet; this is great if you want to engage in your current activity at hand fully.
Having in tablet mode, you’ll be able to use it just like a regular tablet, with all the touchpad features.
The laptop also comes with a pen, it’s pretty sensitive and is equivalent to an Intuos sensitivity pressure.
Keyboard And The Mousepad
From its previous version, the Spectre x360 15 took a new direction with its keyboard set up and decided to clear its side speakers next to the keyboard.
So no more side speakers, and this is all due to its new ten-key numeric pad that HP has installed.
You can always purchase a great headphone or some of the best speakers out in the market to your arsenal.
The integration of the numeric pad makes the laptop look quite elegant and has that business type of feel to it.
The mouse trackpad is made up of a glass coating, which has a nice feel to it.
Ports
The Spectre x360 15 comes with dual high-speed Thunderbolt 3 ports, with an HDMI port located near the power button, one USB Type-A port, and a microSD slot.
I think it’s more than enough ports that can support your other devices and connections.
In Conclusion
The HP Spectre x360 15 is an excellent laptop to have with its new Kaby Lake G processor integrated within it.
If you’re looking for a fully capable, gaming and working laptop, then the Spectre x360 is it.
It’s affordable, the design looks pretty aesthetic, and you’ll have a fully functioning and speedy laptop by your side.

I’m in the market for a new laptop and didn’t know where to start. This HP Spectre sounds like a good option. Does it have a webcam and do you know how well it records video and audio? I will probably be doing lots of editing and I need something that does well with that and is very user-friendly. If not this one, do you have any other recommendations?
Hello, first and foremost I would like to commend you for this review about the new house Spectre x360-15 review. I really jumped for joy when I saw the specifications of this wonder PC , seeing it runs on Core i7-8705G, running up from 3.1 GHz up to 4.1 GHz. This is the upgrade I have been looking for as compared to my core i5 hp laptop. This will definitely run my present PC games well without any hassle. Will definitely include this in my budget.
I run my own online business, and my laptop is an older model and sometimes pretty slow, so I’ve been in the market for a new one for quite some time. I like the size of the New HP Spectre x360 15, I have to say, it’s big enough to split the screen (which I do constantly), yet small enough to fit into my bag and also use as a tablet. Thanks for sharing all this great information. This might be the one!
Sounds like they updated a few things that matter! I have a model that is a couple of years older and the network issues are crazy. I’ve tried a few online fixes but it doesn’t seem to be getting better. And I am very fluent with technology. But progress is a good thing. Thanks for highlighting the positive.

Though as an IT Consultant, often organizations and even individual seek my advice on laptops to buy. what I normally ask is what is the purpose of buying the laptop. That said, looking at the features of this new hp spectre x360 15 laptops, there is hardly any program or application it cannot run successfully.
