The I/O panel is located in the right rear of the display. The I/O ports consist of one DisplayPort 1.2, one DisplayPort Out, one HDMI 1.4, three USB 3.0, two USB-C, one DVI-DLx, and one audio jack output.

Performance and Features
The HP Z24N G2 runs a resolution of 1920×1200, with a refresh rate of 60hz and a response time of 5ms. The 60Hz refresh rate won’t be ideal if you’re a competitive gamer. You’ll need higher refresh rates such as 144Hz to 240Hz refresh rates.
The screen has a standard 16:10 screen aspect ratio, which is alright, and you’ll have enough screen real estate to have multiple windows open and work on various projects at the same time.
With a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a brightness level of 3000 cd/m², you’ll have a wide range of contrast, and you’ll have to tone down the brightness as well because it’ll get too bright. Also, the monitor has a 100% sRGB gamut and will have the color accuracy needed.
The image and pixels are sharp and well detailed. Thanks to its 94 PPI, you’ll be able to see text and pictures very crisp and in a detailed way. When running a graphic intensive program, the display uses less GPU power, which is great because it’ll go well with a moderate to an impressive GPU.
Considering that the HP Z24N is an IPS panel, this monitor can reach to an 890:1 contrast, which is pretty high for an IPS panel.
This IPS panel is ideal for creatives, producers and graphic designers alike because of its color accuracy and image clarity. The HP Z24N isn’t recommended for gaming and competitive gamers due to the displays low refresh rates and higher response time. And its high input lag of 40ms isn’t ideal as well for gaming in general.
If you were looking forward to FreeSync and G-Sync features, the HPZ24N doesn’t have these features so you won’t be able to experience the smooth features during gameplay. However, for content producers, and creatives, you’ll do well with this monitor.
- Image and pixels are sharp
- Color and contrast are decent
- Great for everyday standard and office uses
- Not a fast monitor, and won’t be ideal for gaming in general
- Input lag is up to 40ms, and response time is at 5ms
- Doesn’t have G-Sync and Freesync capabilities
Thoughts and Conclusion
The HP Z24N G2 is a great monitor with high-quality color and excellent features. And the monitor is great for regular everyday work and great for producers that work on different projects.
Also, with its setup, you’ll be able to connect many devices into the Z24N G2 display and use it for a variety of different purposes.
However, with its 60Hz refresh rate and input lag of 40ms, you’ll notice motion blur and ghosting when gaming on this display. And with its slower pixel response time, you won’t be able to game to full potential.
