It’s great for handling other multi-media and is beneficial for creative’s and professionals alike as well.

Thanks to its wide viewing angle, this IPS monitor can provide you consistency in images and colors along with its high performances.

Along with its nice, simple, aesthetically pleasing design, you’ll be able to admire the display when walking into your room.

Display Design

The Gigabyte G27Q monitor has an excellent 27-inch design, allowing you to have many screen real estate and have multiple projects open while simultaneously working on other projects.

The G27Q is a curved display and is overall flat; however, this shouldn’t pose any problem because you still get that immersion feel when gaming or watching all the multi-media.

Speaking of immersion, you can see all three sides of the display have thin bezels, allowing more absorption to your multi-media experiences.

In addition, the overall design of the display has an excellent matte-black texture design, and the material has a high-quality plastic feel in general.

Also, the screen itself is made up of high-quality, matte material which handles reflections very well. However, it may not handle direct sunlight well but should handle other light sources with ease.

Along with a nice ergonomic stand, the G27Q monitor sits on a solid foundation. Thanks to its V-shaped base, the monitor sits on solidly and won’t wobble when nudged or slightly moved.

The default stand can adjust and height, tilt, and swivel; however, it cannot rotate nor swivel.

But you can swap in the default stand with a 100x100mm VESA mount, which allows the monitor to be more flexible in movement, and flexible in screen positioning.

You’ll be able to find the OSD panel on the back of the monitor, which consists of one joystick and is quite user-friendly when navigating and configuring through the OSD menu.

Not only that, but you can also control, and we reconfigure the OSD settings through its OSD SideKick feature, which lets you control the settings via your keyboard and mouse.

Also, there is a plethora of connectivity, which you can find on the rear of the display, consisting of one DisplayPort 1.2, two HDMI 2.0, three USB 3.0, and one audio jack. Overall the design of the Gigabyte G27Q is excellent and aesthetically pleasing, yet simple and elegant at the same time. Along with its minimal OCD panel, the stand is also ergonomically well designed, that you may adjust the display in different positions with ease.

Performance and Features

The Gigabyte G27Q has a resolution of 2560×1440 QHD, along with a max 144Hz refresh rate and a 1 ms response time, making this monitor ideal for competitive gaming, and professionals can benefit from this monitor as well.

Also, the max refresh rate is 144Hz and is excellent for fast-paced action scenes because pictures and graphics look smooth and crisp at the same time.

In addition, the contrast ratio sits at 1000:1 with a brightness level of 350 cd/m². Being an IPS panel, the contrast performed decently well; however, the rich darks appeared a little bit grayed out.

Along with its impressive 350 cd/m² brightness level, you may have to dim down the brightness slightly when calibrating the monitor due to its potency.

In terms of backlight bleeding, there wasn’t too noticeable a significant presence of backlight bleeding; however, it can be seen around the edges of the screen but shouldn’t pose any issues.

The great thing about the G27Q is its excellent resolution, along with its 109 PPI pixel density, which will grant you more excellent screen real estate space to have multiple windows, and projects open simultaneously.

Being an IPS panel, the viewing angles perform excellently because images and colors remained consistent when viewing the screen from different positions and angles.

In addition, the Gigabyte G27Q has 120% SRGB and 85% RGB color coverage. It will provide you excellent and accurate life light colors, perfect for gaming and creative professionals working on photos or color grading. Overall the color gamut performed very excellently.

Along with this superb color coverage, the HDR feature also performed excellently and provided wide ranges of additional colors thanks two it’s DCIP3 color coverage.

The monitor has FreeSync and is also G-Sync compatible and certified as well, along with a VRR range of 20Hz to 144Hz.

When FreeSync is on, you’ll be able to experience smooth buttery-like graphics, and motions will be very smoother, without any screen tearing nor ghosting present. However, G-Sync won’t work when connecting via HDMI. You’ll also be able to achieve a max refresh rate of 60Hz when connecting through HDMI.

The overdrive feature works well; however, it should be turned to ‘speed’; anything over ‘speed’ mode will give you graphical artifacts and overshoots.

In terms of input lag, the input lag performs very well and consistently remained responsive.

The display is excellent for competitive gaming and casual gaming, thanks to its 144Hz refresh rate.

The monitor is also G-Sync certified along with its great FreeSync and G-Sync capabilities, making graphical motion smoother and buttery smooth.

However, the monitor stand can be somewhat improved, making it more capable of different positioning.

Being an IPS panel, the Gigabyte G27Q has excellent color coverage, along with great viewing angles. The images and colors remained consistent without fading, nor disappearance in images when viewing the display from different angles.
