The Dell Ultrasharp 27-inch Monitor U2719D is an excellent multi-media mix type of monitor which can handle most tasks that you can throw at it.
And being an IPS panel, the U2719D will provide you that wide viewing angle look to it. However, the contrast levels weren’t too impressive.
Additionally, the Dell U2719D has excellent color accuracy by default yet will also provide you simplistic settings and features.
Unfortunately, the U2719D won’t provide you FreeSync nor G-Sync, which would have been an excellent feature to have for an IPS.

Display Design
The Dell U2719D measures 27-inches, the U2719D has a simplistic touch overall. And thanks to its thin-bezel design, the monitor will provide you a greater overall screen-time immersion.
The bezels are super thin on all four sides, which is also great if you plan to create a dual monitor setup.
As you can see, the screen has a nice matte-black texture, making it great for handling glares and reflections from other light sources.
In addition, the stand has an excellent square shape to the base; however, the monitor may wobble a bit.
The U2719D’s stand has excellent ergonomics, which lets the monitor adjust in height, tilt, switch and swivel, making this monitor great if you want to work in different angles and positions.
You can also detach the default stand and attach a 100x100mm VESA mount, which provides your display better position maneuverability and a more excellent range of movements.
If you check behind the display, you’ll find a nice matte-silver finish, along with its nice Dell logo, which gives you an overall premium feel to the monitor.
You’ll find the OSD panel easily, located on the bottom of the display, consisting of five physical buttons, including the power button.
The connectivity inputs can be found on the bottom of the monitor, consisting of one DisplayPort 1.4, one Mini DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 4, and five USB 3.0 ports.
The U2719D has an abundance of connections, making it great if you plan on daisy-linking a second monitor to your arsenal and also making the U2719D great to connect your electronic devices to.
Performance and Features
The Dell U2719D is an IPS display, which has a 2560×1440 resolution, with a 60Hz refresh rate; however, it doesn’t come equipped with many gaming features such as FreeSync and no HDR support.
Additionally, the 60Hz refresh rate is excellent if you’re an average gamer; however, 60Hz is relatively low for competitive gaming. The screen will produce motion blurs and a bit of ghosting if you’re playing fast-paced action games.
The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, along with a megapixel of 3.7. And thanks for its 109 PPI pixel density. In general, the display will give you crisp images and spacious room to maneuver around your display, making the monitor great for multi-tasking.
The U2719D’s contrast ratio is 1000:1, with a brightness level of 350 cd/m²; you may have to turn down the brightness level because it’ll be too bright when opening from the box. However, the U2719D won’t give you the dark rich blacks, which is typical for IPS panels.
In addition, the 6.0 ms input lag is outstandingly low for a 60Hz display, giving you a better screen response overall.
The U2719D has a 76% Adobe RGB coverage which is quite decent if you’re working with photographs and color grading projects; however, it isn’t ideal for professionals.
Also, the overdrive feature works quite well and will give you the ‘Fast’ option, which will provide you with a motion-blur-free experience; however, you’ll start noticing a bit of artifact and overshoots along the way.
Unfortunately, the Dell U2719D doesn’t come with FreeSync, nor is it G-Sync compatible, and won’t support variable refresh rates, so you won’t be able to enjoy the butter-smooth gameplays.
The grey uniformity is excellent; however, the black uniformity isn’t up to par, and you’ll be able to see the LEDs from the edges.
Overall the Dell U2719D is excellent for everyday work and personal use; however, it’s also decent for gaming.

Overall, the Dell U2719D is a well-rounded, everyday use monitor. It’s decent when gaming; however, due to its limited 60Hz refresh rate, you won’t be able to experience the smoother side of gaming compared to a 144Hz display.
However, the U2719D has excellent screen real estate, making it ideal if you’re working on multiple projects and have lots of windows open.
It would have been nice if the monitor would also support FreeSync and G-Sync, along with VRR support.
Also, another flaw is, the display won’t produce the rich darks, and the blacks turn out to be a bit greyed out.
The Dell U2719D is an overall excellent display for everyday uses and if you’re an average gamer.
However, if you’re a hardcore competitive gamer, then you’ll need to check out the higher-end monitors with 144Hz or 240Hz refresh rates.
