Display Design

The Dell S3422DWG measures at 34-inches, with an excellent 1800R curvature design allowing you to have total immersion within your gaming sessions.

Additionally, the entire display has a nice matte-black texture and a minimalist, futuristic design to the whole build. Also, the design feels premium, thanks to its excellent high-quality plastic material. And you can see the Dell logo from behind as well, with its creative colorations.

You’ll find the OSD panel on the side rear of the monitor, which consists of four physical buttons and one joystick. Navigating through the OSD menu is easy and convenient using a joystick.

The four keys act as a hotkey and shortcut keys, which is a perfect setting for presets.

Also, the display is bezel-free as well giving you no distractions during your gaming and multimedia sessions. And having no bezels, you can also add a second S3422DWG monitor to have a complete gaming arsenal.

The S3422DWG’s stand has a great polygonal base shape as its foundation; however, the monitor has a bit of a wobble when slightly nudged due to its base shape.

Also, the stand is limited in ergonomics and can only adjust in height and tilt. And it can’t pivot nor swivel; however, it shouldn’t be a significant issue.

You can always swap out the stock stand with a 100x100mm VESA mount if you need to, allowing the S3422DWG monitor to have a more excellent range of motion and positional flexibility.

The connectivity panel can be found on the rear of the display and consists of one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0, four USB 3.0, and two audio jacks. The monitor overall has a plethora of connectivity that you can connect to, making it great for connecting electronic devices and connecting your gaming consoles as well.

Performance and Features

The Dell S3422DWG has a resolution of 3440×1440, with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time, which is excellent for gaming and other multimedia.

Additionally, the contrast ratio is at 3000:1 with a brightness level of 400 cd/m². The peak brightness is excellent and can overcome reflections and glares from different light sources pretty well.

The viewing angles aren’t as extraordinary as an IPS panel; the colors start fading when viewing the screen from different angles and will have a washed-out effect.

The pixel density is at 108 PPI, and the text is clear and crisp, which is a great thing, along with sharp and detailed images. Along with a screen aspect ratio of 21:9, 5.0 MP, combined with a high resolution, the S3422DWG will provide you great screen real estate space.

The default input lag is quite low, which sits at 5ms and will give you the advantage during your gaming sessions.

FreeSync works perfectly fine; however, the displays are not G-Sync certified but can work via Display Port. The VRR ranges from 20Hz to 144Hz and works perfectly without any screen tearing or ghosting, resulting in smoother and buttery-like gameplays.

The monitor will provide you a wider color gamut while in HDR10. And it includes excellent coverage of DCI P3 spectrum as well.

There is a bit of backlight bleeding around the corners of the edges; however, it shouldn’t be too significantly noticeable.

Also, the OSD features will provide you five different options such as an FPS counter, Dark Stabilizer, a Timer, Display Alignment, and Downlight, these options are all excellent if you’re planning on enhancing your gaming sessions.
