Monitor Performance

Monitor Resolution

With a 1560 x 1440 QHD resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate running a 4ms response time, this will be great if you’re working on detailed projects especially if you’re a photographer or a video editor.

If you’re looking for a gaming monitor, the AOC Q2790PQU wouldn’t be your best ideal gaming monitor because of its slow 4ms response time. If you’re looking for some of the top gaming monitors instead, you can check them out here.

Display Size and Resolution

With a 27 inch display running at 1440p, you have sharp and detailed graphics which is great if you’re doing any detailed graphical work. If you’re working on a project in Photoshop, you’ll be able to see the crisp and detail of the pictures with clarity and with accurate precision. This is a great feature to have especially if you’re a graphics designer or touching up some details on your photography work.

Color Accuracy

Thanks to its 110 PPI, and with a 100% sRGB gamut spectrum, with an impressive accurate Delta .2, which is fantastic for graphic artists, photographers or video editors, because the IPS panel produces the right color balance and color temperature, which flows harmoniously.

However considering that the AOC Q2790PQU is an IPS panel, you may notice a bit of color bleeding in the corners of the screen. However, it shouldn’t be a primary concern because it won’t affect the illumination of the image.

When playing fast paced action games, you’ll still see the 60Hz effect and a bit of the ghosting effects. Compared to a 144Hz panel, ghosting and graphics lag wouldn’t be an issue. Speaking of gaming, you won’t be able to use the FreeSync nor the G Sync feature for the AOC Q2790PQU because this monitor is meant for designers, businesses and workers.

The G Sync and FreeSync feature tremendously help if you’re a competitive gamer and are looking for that immersive experience without any screen tearing or ghosting on the side. Which unfortunately this monitor does not provide.

But if you do decide to get the AOC Q2790PQU, and like to work on graphics, photographs or video editing, then this monitor will provide you the necessary image details, clarity, color luminosity, and color balance.

I would say, get the AOC Q2790PQU if you’re doing heavy work such as graphic designing or imaging. However, I wouldn’t recommend this for competitive gamers. But you’ll be able to do great with this monitor if you’re the laidback type of player that games once in a while.
